Reflections – Wanda Williams
How do we see ourselves in the mirror, in the eyes of our children, our loved ones in the eyes of strangers? When we see our own reflection in the mirror is it truely what we see reflected back to us or is it the little voice inside our heads that tells us we are not good enough, smart enough, too fat, too thin, getting older not bolder, not worth loving or being loved? Do we really see the true beauty that resides not only on the outside but on the inside as well?
We stand looking peering trying to remember who we are, trying to remember the days that were carefree childlike happy fun, how on earth did we get to here, do you think it might be over time listening to the judgement of others listening to the judgement of self, we are all very good at that we can be & are our biggest critics, sad isn’t it.
This beautiful being that came into this world perfect just the way we chose to arrive, with all that we needed to face the outer world, now stands before the mirror lost, disorientated a feeling of being incomplete, yes we have all done this to ourselves at some point in time, we stand there looking at the reflection of ourselves disgruntled at what’s looking back, at some point in time we stopped seeing the beautiful in ourselves & started seeing the incompleteness not feeling whole not loving oneself.
On my travels as I do my healing work this same feeling resonates with many, many people it saddens me to think all of these kind gentle loving people don’t see the beauty I see in them, the feeling of not being complete not being whole not being good enough passes into my life daily as I work with these people.
Please stop the next time you stand before the mirror next time see your reflection I want you to be kind be loving be gentle with what you see reflected back to you, see the amazing soul God created, the wonderful mothers, daughters, fathers, sons, aunts, uncles and friends that you are to many others.
Listen only to the truth your truth your knowing that came with you into this world – Your Perfect – no matter what ale’s you no matter what journey you have chosen for yourself, acceptance of self is our biggest lesson!!
So I’m in favour of bringing back the fun the laughter not taking ourselves too serious to look in the mirror & accept that which is looking back at us & smile, life really wasn’t suppose to be this hard we make it that way, live make changes as the saying goes “life is far too short, be happy!!
